What fun knowing Ruth and family. We worked together, gabbed together, and of course argued. We will miss her most generous contributions to party meals and desire to party at home or away. She treasured her family, especially her grandson Isaac, who inherited her disposition to parent ten cats!

I’ve known Ruth since our kids were in school together. Ruth always had the good ideas, and I always cheerfully tagged along. Ruth gave the parties. I attended. Ruth planned the outings. I rode along. Ruth found the good restaurants. I ate with her. We taught together, laughed together, mourned our husbands together. I am lucky to have been her friend. Remembering Ruth will always be a pleasure.

My Sincerest Condolences to Joe, David, Isaac and Family. Ruth was my mother, Peg's best friend so close that they became like sisters. When my mother died in 2007 of cancer, Ruth was there for me, she had become as an aunt to me and we grew even closer after Mom died. We shared holidays together. Gifts. Meals. Trips to New York City. An elegant lady, she had such style and flair- I always turned to her if I was uncertain about purchasing an item for our home- she always gave the soundest advice. She was one of the kindest and compassionate people I have ever met. Always looked for the good in people. Brian, Andy and I adored her. She will be sorely missed. XXX

My sincere sympathies for the loss of your Ruth, your mom, stepmom and grandmother. Ruth was an incredibly special person to me. Both she and Paul took a huge interest in my family and me, always there for us and always with good advice. Ruth was not only my English professor but became a dear friend that I will remember always. Peace be with you.

My sympathies go out to Ruth's family and friends. Ruth was very special to me. At a time when I was desperate for a job so I could support my family, Ruth helped me prepare myself to find a good position. She also connected me with Rabbi Samuels who hired me to work part-time at the synagogue so I could hone my secretary skills, which led me to a full-time job at UConn as a professional employee for 27 years. If it wasn't for Ruth, I wouldn't be who I am today. I am so grateful to have known her and I will think of her often.
