Working with Andy for thirty years, from his start as a prosecutor until my retirement, allowed me to know a man who loved and respected the law while being a partner with law enforcement. His was a passion to do it right and fairly. He gave generously of his time to police always to understand their unique point of view while insuring proper legal process. It was a privledge to have journeyed the many criminal cases with him and know this good man. Major Richard Covello CSP retired.

Andy was one of a kind - intelligent, witty and a great sense of humor. I tried for years to get into the poker group, hearing tales of the fun at the G.A.. He pulled a fast one finally on the guys by inviting me to a game he was hosting without the others' knowledge or consent. I have been a member ever since and have been so enriched by the camararaderie. Thanks to Andy!

To Andy's family and friends,
My condolences on your loss. As a new Public Defender in the late 90's, I was extremely fortunate to have Andy on the other side of the courtroom. He was smart, he was funny, he was a terrific lawyer, but above all that he was a good man. In our six years together I learned more from him about being a criminal defense lawyer than I did from anyone else. He was my opponent when I got my first "not guilty" verdict in a trial - a moment I'll never forget - and he was gracious in defeat. He was truly one of a kind, and I am a better lawyer for having known him.
