Mary Ellen Dillon

Mary Ellen Dillon, 56, of Willimantic, beloved wife of Matt Dillon, died peacefully Friday, May 4, 2018 at her home surrounded by those she loved. She was born in Middletown, NY to Francis and Mary Ellen (Strout) Cronin. Mary grew up in New York but traveled out west to Colorado where she met Matt, the love of her life. They have three wonderful daughters together, Tessa Ortiz, Deirdre Dillon and Samantha Dillon, and three beautiful grandchildren, Antonio Hidalgo, Vincent Hidalgo, and Madison Ortiz. Mary’s career was in Telecommunications/Sales, where she later retired from after 15 years of service. Mary devoted her time and all of her love to her family thereafter. In 2010, Mary decided to attain her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University, which she proudly accomplished in May 2015. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, photography, and cooking (the gourmet type). Mary was one of eight children and loved her brothers and sister dearly. Mary deeply appreciated the little things in life and wanted nothing more than to be surrounded by those she held dearest. Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends for visitation hours on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home with burial to follow at New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd., Lebanon.
