Outside of my own ancestry, the Sumner ancestry were the greatest gentle men I have ever known. Jack was like a brother to me, and in fact, he was, in 1949-50 when I lived with him and his family for a year.
I will greatly miss him and can only say his family had a most wonderful man.

Jack was a man whose character and integrity were beyond reproach. His customers relied on him to provide the right coverage for their situation, whether a personal auto policy or a complex commercial policy for a town or business. In the seventeen years I worked at Sumner & Sumner, I observed how hard he worked each and every day.

Rest in peace, Jack. My sympathy and prayers are with his family.

It was a pleasure serving on the Windham Hospital Board with Jack. I will always remember him delivering a Travelers Insurance calendar every year to my office.
