Linda, I was thinking about Dave the other day and all the wonderful exchanges we had after both of us left Holyoke Community College. I am very sorry for your lose and know that he fought his battle well. You were there for him as I observed when the two of you passed through North Carolina on the way back to CT some years ago. I greatly appreciated David’s kindness to me in my early years at Eastern. As chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, I would like to send condolences to David’s family from the department that he helped shape over his 20-year career at Eastern.

I remember David as a valued member of our math faculty at Eastern. He had a great wit which always kept the banter light and insightful. We all regretted his premature retirement and applauded his determination in his battle with Parkinson’s. He is remembered with great fondness.
