For many, many years Dr. Lindley has remained in my mind as one of my most favorite professors. In addition to giving me a life long love of philosophy, I will never forget he and his wife inviting my class to their lovely home and giving us a much appreciated dinner. I graduated in 1956, a charter member of the U-Conn's Phi Beta Kappa chapter. Thank you, Dr. Lindley for the good grades, the inspiration, and the memories of the prof. I never forgot.

We had the pleasure of working for Foster Lindley for many years. He was a kind and humorous gentleman. He was frequently thought provoking and we enjoyed hearing his classical music blaring through the house. I, Marcie, had the pleasure of spending many hours with him reminiscing about his past. His devotion to his wife was evident and his love for her unending. He will always be in our memories and will be deeply missed.

I have had the greatest pleasure getting to know Mr. Lindley these last ten years while working at the Altnaveigh. He was one of my favorite customers and part of our restaurant family. We even had a special table for him near the bar so that everyone could have a chance to speak with him=) He was kind, generous, and funny. He will be missed by many. My prayers go out to the family and friends whom he has left behind.

Foster made it possible for me to learn computer programming which jump started my career. He was such a gentleman. He was always encouraging and spoke highly of my successes. He had a great sense of humor, but most of all he was kind. I really enjoyed the time I was able to spend with him and respected him very much.

I graduated from The University of Connecticut (as Homer Babbige preferred to call it) in 1970 with a philosophy minor and recall classes, exceptionally demanding ones, with Professor Lindley. I also served on several staff-administration-student committees during the remarkable years on campus.

A good man.
