Dear Mark, David, Sandy, and Joanne,

I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I remember her so well from when you all lived in Lynwood! She was an amazing lady and "lady" is the appropriate term! I hope you are comforted by the fact that she touched so many people and that all of us who knew her remember her fondly. We grew up in such a wonderful place that I always feel close with everyone in our Lynwood family! Hope you all are doing as well as you can. Ironically, your mother's funeral was on the day that my father passed away, so the Lynwood connection was around even that day! Wishing you comfort and peace.

Dear Ruth: With your departure, Mansfield Ct lost another great defender of its environment. Alas, there will be no one to fill the space you left!
You will be remembered with your graceful ways, friendship, and dedication of many noble causes.
Your memories will always be remembered with love and thanks.
Rest in peace.

Dear Family of Ruth:
I just heard of Ruth's passing yesterday(10/24) from Louise Kapitulik-( we are neighbors here in Steuben, Maine). --and I was deeply saddened. I recall and appreciated her energy, her wit, her determination and great commitment to humanity. I recall her children at E.O. Smith with fondness and her teaching with us in various stints. When she approached me about joining our student group going to the Soviet Union in 1989, I knew she would be a great adult to have along with the 25 students as we traveled. We had some interesting moments and delighted in observing the major changes that were unfolding in the USSR-- including dissidents in Kiev and Odessa. We went through "Checkpoint Charlie" in Berlin--- through the Berlin Wall on our way to and from the USSR. Some months later, that wall would fall and all Europe would change. Throughout the nineties Ruth and I would be involved in various issues/efforts in the Storrs community. She was a wonderful person and I do so wish we had more of her kind of person in the dark days of this election. May peace be with you all and may we remember Ruth throughout our days.

Dear Ruth, our friend and companion as we journeyed through this life called Storrs-Mansfield. Peace at last for your adventurous spirit. For us your grand, wide heart, your generosity and kindness, Luddite, provocateur, perfect hostess, rich talent helped make this small village on the eastern hills of Connecticut a community we all could call "home." Thank you for being the "compleat parfait lady Ruth" on our simple stage. Like all good theater your presence here will resonant long after this curtain falls. Oh how we miss you.
