Gertrude was a tireless researcher into family history and as a (very distant) cousin I have hugely appreciated all the work she has done. Having recently visited Budapest and met up with her third cousin I am full of admiration for her work. RIP

I'm so sorry to read of Gertrude's passing. She was a favorite teacher of mine at the Mansfield MIddle School and I have fond memories of her. May she rest in peace.

Hi Howard- I am now living in Virginia but happened to think of Gertrude and then I learned of her passing. She was one of my favorite patients and I am sorry for your loss.

I remember Gertrude reacting very negatively to misspellings and incorrect grammar in our NEDS Newsletter when it was in the printed form. As I recall, she was invited to proofread it before it went to members. She was always a teacher insisting on correctness. I would say she was "one tough cookie".

We fondly remember Gertrude's warm hospitality on holidays with many of us sitting at the long table in the living room with a comfortable fire going, compliments of Howard. Gertrude was a one-of-a-kind personality who always had something to say about anything! Ready or not, we always got her ideas and opinions. Howard, you can easily carry on that tradition.
