Dr. Baldwin was an inspiration to her fellow Altrusans and we are honored to say that she was an esteemed past president ofAltrusa International. Her work in education and in civil rights are an inspiration to all Altrusans. In her honor we have made a donation of $25.00 from our club treasury to our local Altrusa Foundation here in Green Bay Wisconsin. We own the Altrusa House in Green Bay, an ambitious endeavor that opened 15 years ago. Our 12-bedroom house serves as a "home away from home" to those in need of a place to stay during outpatient medical treatment or in support of a loved one in the hospital. There is no charge other than a one-time key $10 key fee. We are so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, The Altrusa Club of Green Bay

Message from Kimberly Albro, University of Connecticut Alum
February 7, 2017 11:01 AM

Dr. Baldwin interviewed me when I applied to the School of Education at the University of Connecticut back in the 1990's. Though I never had her as a professor, I will never forget that interview or the impression she made. As I later learned of her many accomplishments, the impact she had on her students, her colleagues and on education as a whole is clearly remarkable. My sincere condolences go out to Dr. Baldwin's family. May you find comfort in the memories you keep and peace in the legacy of all she did during her time on this earth. With sympathy, Kimberly Albro

A LOVES TAPESTRY was ordered on February 1, 2017

Message from Virginia Fulton and Murphy Sewalln
January 31, 2017 9:29 PM

Alex was my mentor and sponsor to Altrusa of NE CT. What a breath of fresh air she was! Her sparkle was contagious. She was at once a stickler for procedure and a spokesperson for the larger perspective. To be in her circle, to know she thought of one as a friend was a great privilege. The world is truly a better place because she passed through it.

I know Alex thru Altrusa. She came to Stillwater in Dec 1996 I think, not sure of the year, to our brunch and fashion show. She even modeled one of the shaws. She stayed at my house. She was such a lovely lady & we certainly had a lot of laughs & fun. It's been several years since I've seen Alex but she will be missed. She touched a lot of lives just thru Altrusa & I can't imagine how many more she's touched. We miss you dear friend. Judy German Stillwater, Ok
