Diana L. Huntington

Diana Lee Huntington, 65, of South Windham, CT died peacefully on June 2, 2017. She was a strong-hearted woman, free spirited and confident in all her ways.  Diana was born on June 28, 1951, the daughter of the late Channing and Irene (LeRoux) Huntington II.  She was raised in Marlborough, CT, and attended RHAM High School, class of 1969. Diana became a skilled and competent Registered Nurse and worked for Windham Hospital and later became Director of Nursing at Sunrise Northeast. In the early 1990's, she became a pioneering female bodybuilder, winning Ms. New England, and Ms. Canada-America Supernatural in her division.  Diana was a passionate gardener and spent uncountable hours bringing life and beauty from the soil. She enjoyed all kinds of music, especially classic country, and often expressed a unique fashion sense.  She was also an avid reader and well known in the area libraries for reading 8 to 10 books a week. Diana will be sincerely missed by her sisters, Kathryn, Susan, Cindy, her brother Chan, her best friend Lynda, her two sons, Jonathan and Daniel, their wives, Alicia and Courtni, her two granddaughters, Elia and Ariel, and her grandson John Samuel.  Diana’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday June 17, 2017 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic.  Her Memorial Service will begin 11:00am at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Governor Samuel Huntington Trust P.O.
