Carl E. Larson 71, of Mansfield, Beloved husband and father, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 after spending his last hours surrounded by his family. He was born in Willimantic on April 10, 1946 to Elsie (Brandt) and Eric Larson. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Barbara (Peckham) Larson; their children, Kelsey Larson, Eric Larson, and Linnea (Larson) Nikitas, her husband Jason Nikitas; three grandchildren, Natalia, Jack, and Alaina Nikitas; his sister, Christine Burton and her husband Davis, along with their children Jeff and Scott Burton; sister in law Bette Gauthier and her husband Roger and their three children, Sean, Kyle, and Aubrey Gauthier. 
Carl worked his entire life in the construction business, starting his career at Industrial Construction, Inc. He then owned his own construction company, the C.E.Larson Company as well as C.E.L Construction Consulting. Later in life he worked for Konover, Bovis, Linbeck and Standard Builders. Carl loved to golf and was very good at it. He enjoyed watching The Masters Championship, as the finish usually coincided with his birthday. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and UCONN Huskies. Carl loved reading and singing in his church choir, but his favorite past time was most certainly wood working. He was a true artisan and appreciated all types of woods and blended them together effortlessly into what are now treasured as family heirlooms. Friends and family will dearly miss his infectious smile, boisterous laughter, and witty sense of humor. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at The First Congregational Church of Coventry 1171 Main St. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in his name to the First Congregational Church of Coventry 1171 Main St., P.O.
