Joyce,
Laurie and I were saddened to learn of Art's passing. He was in so many ways my mentor. We worked together on numerous projects and presented together at ASCD many times. He encouraged me to try to become ASCD president and supported me all the way to victory. Our friendship began when he was on my doctoral committee at UConn and continued for many years.
I informed the former presidents of ASCD. Art was very close to many of them.
I will always be grateful for having Art in my life.
