William Edwin Philbrick

William Edwin Philbrick, 92, of Chaplin died August 8, 2021, at Hartford Hospital.  He was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, March 2, 1929.  Bill graduated from Northeastern University in 1957 and continued to support the University the rest of his life.  He retired from Brand-Rex as Vice-President of MIS after 32 years of service.  He served his country with honor for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  Bill was First Selectman of Chaplin from 1993-1997.  Throughout his life, he contributed to his community in ways too numerous to list, among them 28 years working to help Regional District 11 and Parish Hill, as a Joshua’s Trust Steward for 18 years, and as a founder of the Chaplin Senior Center and leader on its Board of Directors for 16 years.

Bill was the kindest and most beloved man.  He leaves to miss and love him as long as they live, his wife of 66 years, Johanne, his two sons Geoffrey and Harlan, his grandchildren Amanda and Aaron and his sister Caroline Bates.  A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Russ Cemetery, Chaplin, to honor his life.
