Virgen "Maria" Torres Vazquez

Virgen “Maria” Torres Vazquez, 84, of Willimantic, CT passed away on February 12, 2021. She was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico to Marcelo Torres and Ramona Vazquez.

Maria loved coffee, keebler crackers and butter every morning. She also loved to go shopping and traveling. She was the life of the party and loved to be with her family. She loved the color red and loved to have her hair braided. Her hair always had to be long. She never said “no” and was always down for anything and everything. She had the spirit of a child and she had such a will to live. Maria was such a blessing and everyone who met her instantly loved her. We were all so lucky to have her in our lives.  We are grateful to God for choosing her as our mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Maria will be deeply missed by her children Sonia Garcia, Gladys Garcia, Esther Garcia, Evelyn Garcia, Helen Garcia, Raul Garcia, Eddie Garcia and Miguel Garcia; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Tomas Garcia, her sons Marco Garcia, Alberto Garcia and Tomas Garcia.

Maria’s family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 10:00-11:00am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226 with her funeral service to follow.
