Roger R. Racicot

Roger R. Racicot, 82, of Columbia, husband of his loving late wife of 39 year, Judith (Bender) Racicot, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Hartford Hospital.  He was born in Columbia, CT, the son of the late Raymond and Katherine (Pikas) Racicot.  

Roger spent his career in agriculture working for Agway and Beacon Feeds.  He loved farming, and took great pride in raising sheep, cows, chickens, horses, and pigeons.  Roger had a huge vegetable garden where he grew vegetables, mainly tomatoes.  He loved canning, especially tomato juice.  In his retirement years he enjoyed his Lionel trains.

Roger is survived by his daughters Julie and son-in-law Richard Chalifoux of Lebanon, CT, Holly and son-in-law Frank Federico of Columbia, CT.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren Nicole Ferguson of Westmoreland, NH and Andrew Chalifoux of Colchester, CT and great-grandchild Josephine Ferguson of Westmoreland, NH.

Roger’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to https://liverfoundation.org/how-you-can-help/ways-to-give/donate-now/or plant a tree in Roger's memory.
