Richard W. Cunningham, Jr.

Richard W. Cunningham, Jr., 73, of Willimantic, CT passed away on October 4, 2021. He was born in Willimantic, CT to the late Richard and Mabel (Grant) Cunningham.

Richard loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed playing card games with his friends. He was an avid New England Patriots fan. He was also a lifetime member of the Fin Fur and Feather Club, The Franco-American Club in Willimantic, the American Legion, and the Moose Club in Willimantic.

He is survived by his children, Arthur Brousseau and his wife, Pat, Michael Haddad and his wife, Lori, Pamela LaChappelle and her husband, James, Richard Cunningham and his partner, Marybeth Lewis, and John Cunningham and his wife, Laurie; 15 grandchildren, Amanda Brousseau, Eric Jacques, Michael Haddad, Jr., Keith Haddad, Stacy Haddad, Scott Duffany, Jesseca Duffany, Christopher LaChappelle, Brandon LaChappelle, Nicholas Underhill, Haley Cunningham, Ryan Cunningham, John Robert Cunningham, Kia Adams, and Sierra Cunningham; 7 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Eli, Scott III, Tabitha, Taeghan, Delanie, and Ezra; sisters, Carol Bissette and Ruthie Furtado; sister-in-law, Donna Cunningham; and his close friend, Michael Sypher, who was like a son to Richard; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda Lee Cunningham; brothers, Mark Cunningham and Gary Cunningham; sisters, Ella, and Frannie and her husband, Reggie; brother-in-law, Joe Furtado.
