Pauline (Tambornini) Syphers

Pauline Marie (Tambornini) Syphers, 84, of Chaplin CT, passed away after a short illness on October 27, 2023 with her son Stephen Syphers and caregiver Dianna Gahimer by her side.  Pauline was born in Willimantic CT, the daughter of the late Paul and Angela Tambornini.  She was the wife of her late loving husband Roland E, Syphers.  Pauline graduated from Windham High School and worked for East Conn for many years driving children to school.  She also worked at Walmart, remaining there until shortly before her passing.

Pauline was a loving, kind, warm, and generous person who enjoyed helping others. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, and sewing.  She especially enjoyed making gifts for others, especially children.  Her specialty was making chocolate covered Oreos.  Passing them out to people she cared about gave her great joy.

Her life centered around her home, her son Stephen, and her cats she rescued or adopted.  Pauline had extended family and many friends.   

Pauline is survived by her son Stephen, her cat Lucius, two sisters-in-law, her brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends she made along the way including those at Walmart who she considered a 2nd family. 

Stephen would like to give a special thank you to Lynn from Hospice who loving cared for Pauline, his father Roland, and Angela his grandmother over the years.

Stephen would also like to thank Dianna, her caregiver.

Pauline’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St. Willimantic, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
