Patricia E. (Tranka) Ausburger

Patricia Elizabeth (Tranka) Ausburger, 78, of Storrs CT, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022.  She was born July 10, 1944 in Willimantic CT.  She was the daughter of Charles Alois (Schlehofer) Tranka and Camilla Francis (Nowak) Tranka. Patricia was part of the first graduating class of E.O. Smith High School, and graduated from Manchester Community College with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She was a licensed as an OTA and began her career at Mansfield Training School working with many disabled clients. She was continually acknowledged for her development of numerous pieces of adaptive equipment for her clients. Upon the closure of MTS, she became a bookkeeper until she retired.  Pat was an avid UConn basketball fan.  She enjoyed baking traditional Polish foods and breads, knitting and crocheting, and was a devoted member of Prince of Peace and Hope Lutheran Churches.
She also loved “Finding Bigfoot”.  Pat loved her family deeply, visiting her relatives whenever possible, and she loved all of her children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Charles Jacob Ausburger; daughters Caroline Camilla Enes, and Sandra Lee Hoysradt; nephew Christopher David Smith; grandchildren: Kimberly Obert, Amanda Enes, Morgan Ausburger, Clarissa Enes, Justin Enes, Cindi Enes, Hayden Hoysradt; three great-grandchildren. 
She was predeceased by her sister Carol Jean Smith and her husband Donald R. Smith.
Pat’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic.  Her funeral service will be at 10:00am Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 328 Village Hill Rd., Lebanon CT, with burial to follow at Storrs Cemetery.
