Pamela “Pam” Jean Racine Poulin Carpenter passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on June 18, 2020 at Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT after a long battle with lung cancer. Born June 29, 1950 in Hubbardton, VT, she was the daughter of the late Edward Joseph Racine and Ruth Louise Gibbs. A sister, wife, mother, aunt, or grandmother; no matter what facet Pam was in her life she was always a great friend. Pam was always on the go she was quick-witted, had a smile that was infectious, and had a contagious laugh. She drove a school bus and worked in retail for many years. When she was off work, she enjoyed crafts of all sorts like knitting and especially crocheting. Pam won lots of awards for her crafts at the Vermont Fairs. On her down time with coffee in hand from Dunkin Donuts Pam was an avid book reader and if she wasn't reading and doing crafts, she loved her internet games. Once she was retired, she volunteered her time holding the office of secretary at the Center Grange #290 in Hubbardton, VT. She also resided between the Windham and Willimantic areas of CT. Pam is survived by her children Charity M. Poulin (Lee) of West Haven, CT, Tammie L. Poplasky (Steve) of Windham, CT, Normand Poulin Jr. of Windham, CT; her grandson Ricky of Scotland CT whom she helped raise; as well as numerous nieces and nephews along with grand- and great-grandchildren; her brothers Raymond Racine of Vernon, CT, Peter Racine (Rhonda) of Navarre, FL, David Racine of Jewett City, CT, and a sister Gayl Osuba (Juan) of Windham, CT. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband David Frank Carpenter. A Celebration of Pam’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution in Pam’s name can be made to the Lung Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
