Nicholas Anthony Messina

Nicholas Anthony Messina left this world suddenly on March 14, 2021 at the age of 62. He was predeceased by his mother Barbara Jay Kennedy, grandmother Harriet Beckett Jay and several Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his father Michael Messina and stepfather Robert Kennedy; his wife Elisha Alkazin and their daughter Bailey; his sons Samuel and Matthew Messina from his previous marriage to Kelly Messina; Samuel’s wife Breanna and their children Phillip and William; Matthew’s fiancé Lindsey, and their children Karsen, Ollie, Brooks, and Charli; his sister Theresa Coyle, her husband Kevin and their children Meaghan and Danielle and Danielle’s daughter Celeste; his sister Michele Messina; his brother Michael Messina Jr; numerous cousins; and many dear friends. Nick leaves loving memories to be cherished by all who knew him and loved him.

 Nick grew up in Middletown and Portland CT, spent many years in Slidell, Louisiana, and settled down in Mansfield, CT.  He had a successful career for many years as the Director of Media Services at Eastern CT State University.  He achieved a Bachelor’s degree of Education from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks and a Master’s degree in Instructional Media from Boston University.  Nick enjoyed spending time with family, playing guitar and banjo, woodworking, car restoration, model building, and spending time outdoors.  Nick's greatest pride was his children and grandchildren.  His love of family was central to his life. Nick was an exceptionally kind, loving, and intelligent man who was respected by all who knew him.  He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Calling hours will be at Potter’s Funeral Home in Willimantic, CT on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 5-7 PM.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Indian Hill Cemetery in Middletown.
