Nancy L. (Stephens) McCrewell, known fondly as Nancy L. McCrewell, of South Windham, CT passed away peacefully from natural causes on October 25, 2023. She was born on April 7, 1946, in Hartford, CT, to the late Robert and Betty Stephens.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert McCrewell, their son, Stephen McCrewell, brother Ronald P. Stevens and her brother-in-law James McCrewell
Nancy is survived by her devoted son, Michael McCrewell, and her cherished grandson, Brody Biamonte-McCrewell, who was the light of her life. Nancy leaves behind her loving son Kevin McCrewell and his wife Laurie. She was the dear sister to Cheryl and her husband, Norman Richards, and sister-in-law to Janet Stephens, the widow of her late brother Ronald Stephens; sister-in-law, Carol, and her husband, Keltz Harris and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Kelly and her husband, Andrew Mikolasy, Jennifer and her husband, Alex Carras, Kim Celebere of Hawaii, and Keltz Harris, Jr. Each of them held a special place in Nancy's heart, and she deeply cherished their relationships.
Nancy was a dedicated paraprofessional in Special Education at North Windham Elementary School for 33 years. Her passion for helping her students excel was evident in her dedication to her work and the strong bonds she formed with her students and fellow teachers. Nancy's commitment to her profession extended beyond the classroom.
Above all, Nancy was a family woman who cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She particularly enjoyed family gatherings and was an avid reader. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as basking in the warmth of the sun and enjoying the beauty of flowers.
Nancy's love, kindness, and selflessness were the defining aspects of her personality. Her unwavering dedication to her family, her students, and her work left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those she left behind.
Nancy’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and selflessness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless students whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Nancy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Burial will be private.
