Michael Francis Turner

Michael Francis Turner, 58, of Norwich, CT passed away at St Joseph’s Living Center in Windham, CT on Friday, May 14, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.  He was born in Norwich, CT to Robert A. and Dorothy Turner.

Michael leaves behind his beloved son, Michael Morse, his sisters and brothers Robert and Ellen Turner, Deborah Smith, Sr. Margaret Mary (Barbara) Turner, John and Carmella Turner, Pauline Lucci and Richard Lucci, Mary and John Harrington, Kristine Turner, and his sister-in-law Christine Turner, wife of his brother Richard Turner who predeceased him.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.  He had many dear friends in the Norwich area as well. 

Mike attended Norwich schools, graduating from Norwich Free Academy in 1980.  He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1981 and was stationed in Tustin, CA where he was assigned to a helicopter squadron as crew chief when it was honored as squadron of the year in 1985.  He served in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1988. 

Upon his return from the military, Mike studied at Mohegan Community College and started his own business, Turner Drywall in Norwich which he owned and operated for many years.

Mike was known by all as fun-loving, quick-witted, and had the gift of gab.  He enjoyed going to flea markets where he often found unique collector’s items.  Mike also played the guitar and sang in a band. 

Mourners are invited to attend the Vigil Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville, CT on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 4:30pm. 

There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
