Mary L. Bruttomesso was born in Norwalk, CT, on June 2, 1958. She was a life-long resident of Willimantic, celebrating 33 years of recovery through the NA & AA program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College in 1999. Mary was employed at Mansfield OBGYN for 16 years, working with those she loved and considered family.

Mary was a mother and grandmother first. She fought through many trials and tribulations in order to change generational curses and her family’s future. As an obedient Christian she served the Lord and rejoiced in His name. She knew that because of Him she was able to conquer all that was placed upon her. Mary looked to God when in times of need and moments of celebration.

Mary was also a giver—always willing to give everything she had to put a smile on someone’s face. Mary had a spirit of sunshine and laughter that could be felt by all those who encountered her. She greatly valued and cherished her family and friends. It is Mary’s infectious spirit and love for the beach, butterflies, and purple that will always remind us of her and that same spirit will continue to flow through those whom she loved.

Mary entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, after a short battle with liver cancer surrounded by her children. She is survived by her life-long best friend, Gregory C. Owens; one sister and best friend, Joanne (Harry); four children, Takaya, Gregory, Christina, and Jason “Michael”; seven grandchildren, her greatest gifts, Caroline, Savannah, Bryan “Trey”, Isaiah, Iyasia, Gregory Jr., and Iyanna; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, family, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her twin daughters Tasha and Keisha, her grandson Isaac, two brothers Charles and James, and her two best friends, Ricky and Debbie.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Life Assembly Church on 143 Windham Rd. Willimantic, CT. 06226. There will be a repast immediately following the services at 375 Boston Post Rd. North Windham, CT.  06256.
