Lorraine C. West

Lorraine Charlotte (Marrotte) West, 87, died peacefully Saturday, August 17, 2018 at her home in Storrs, CT surrounded by her family and friends.
Lorraine was the daughter of the late Aimee and Marie Marrotte of Willimantic, CT, born April 21, 1932.
She is predeceased by her husband James E. West and her son James R. West, sister Evelyn Vegiard and brothers Robert and Richard Marrotte.
She leaves behind 3 children and their spouses; Barbara and Peter Anrico of Pennsylvania,
Ronald and Ellen West of North Carolina and Cheryl and Stefan Urban of Columbia, CT.
She has 6 grandchildren; Daniel and Erin West, Christopher Anrico, Heather Hallman, Colby Urban and Sierra Urban; as well as 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Beverly Smith of Hebron, CT and Joan Rice of Pomfret, CT.
Lorraine was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She cherished every moment with them. She had a beautiful smile and a loving heart. She was always happy and loved to laugh (especially with her grandchildren).
Lorraine worked at the University of Connecticut for many years and made many great friends whom she loved to go on trips with and out to luncheons. Lorraine also enjoyed the beach and being outside.
Lorraine had a wonderful group of caretakers who were very devoted to her and they made the last years of her life so much better. Her family will forever be grateful to them.

Lorraine's family will receive relatives and friends at Potter Funeral Home, 455 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 9:30am-10:30am
