Lillian Yaw Lawrence

Lillian Yaw Lawrence, 93, of Mansfield Center, CT, beloved wife of the late William R. Lawrence, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023.  Born November 18, 1929, in Ticonderoga, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lillian (Becker) Yaw. Lillian was a graduate of Hague Central School in N.Y. and St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing in Albany, N.Y.  She married her husband, Bill on March 3, 1951 and they made their first home in Claverack, N.Y., where she worked at Columbia Hospital in Hudson.  After moving to Connecticut, she worked at Hartford Hospital and the American Red Cross where she was a recipient of the Tiffany Award for employee excellence in 1990.  She and her husband spent many years living in Glastonbury where they raised their 3 children before retiring and moving to Mansfield.  She leaves behind her son, and two daughters, Michele LeBlanc and her husband Bruce of San Antonio, TX and Theresa Meinertz and her husband Gary of Smithfield, RI; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Katharine, Emily and Rebecca; and great grandchildren Gianni, Tahlia and Shannon.  She was pre-deceased by her brothers Roland and Harvey Yaw; sisters Marie Blowers, Priscilla Morin, Consuella Yaw, Harriet Cole, Wilhelmina St. Pierre, Frederica Sharpe and grandson, Brandon Haugh.  There will be no calling hours.  Graveside service will be Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 11:30 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Coventry, CT.
