Kenneth Udal, 72, of Willington, CT beloved husband of 34 years of Mary (Chamberlain) Udal passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, with his beloved wife by his side. Ken was born on June 18, 1951, the third son of August Udal and Katherine (Wawer) Udal.
Ken graduated from Windham High School and continued his education at Eastern Connecticut State University. He worked at Electric Boat for 10 years and was in the Aerospace Industry for about 25 years.
Ken was a brilliant and ingenious individual who found joy in solving problems. He was a classical car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring his corvettes (models 1965 and 1985) during his leisure time. In his adventurous youth, he loved skydiving and became an avid chess player in his later years. Ken received his Commercial Pilot’s License and Instrument Rating and loved to take trips in the Northeast with friends and family members. He had a deep devotion to his Catholic faith. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, uncle, and loyal friend.
Besides his dear wife, he leaves his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Michael Schwartz of New York; his brothers, Richard of Stafford Springs, CT, David of Belews Creek, NC, and his brother-in-law, John Chamberlain of Manchester, CT. He leaves his beloved nephews, Matthew Udal and wife Betsy of West Hartford, CT; Steven and Christina Udal of Shelton, CT and their families, and their mother, Sue Parker of Lebanon, CT and John Chamberlain, Jr. of Manchester. He is predeceased by his two sisters-in-law whom he loved, Joan Udal and Joan Chamberlain.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the dedicated hospice nurses at Hartford Health Care who were so compassionate and supportive.
