Julie (Sypher) LaFontaine, at 73 years of age, passed away peacefully in the company of her loved ones on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Living Center after a brief, yet courageous, battle with Leukemia. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Steffie and Harold Sypher; her brother, George Sypher; and her husband, Rene LaFontaine. Julie is survived by her son, Michael Lovely, his partner, Tina Seavey; Julie’s granddaughter, Melissa Foster; her great-grandson, Ethan Foster; Julie’s sister-in-law, Carolyn Sypher; nieces; nephews; and several loving extended family members.
Julie was best known for her love of scary movies, the New York Yankees, and her beloved cat, Chaz, who she is now reunited with. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Yahtzee, and telling funny stories about Chaz. She loved collecting Jim Shore pieces, and took great pride in making her home feel warm and inviting. Julie’s stoicism and strength are only a few of her many admirable qualities, which will be missed dearly. Our family takes solace in knowing that she is now at peace, and is reunited with her loved ones in heaven.
A graveside service is to be held on Friday, November 12th, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Windham, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Julie’s honor.
