Julia A. (Hansen) Jenkins

Julia A. (Hansen) Jenkins of Chaplin, CT passed away suddenly on March 18, 2021, at the age of 54. She was born November 1, 1966 to Henry and Patricia (Call) Hansen. She was a 1990 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a BS in Business. Julie went on to work for Aetna Insurance Company, the Town of Mansfield Public Schools, Crossroads Physical Therapy, Collaborative Natural Health in full time and part time capacities, as well as being a stay-at-home mom and homeschool teacher. She also volunteered for Chaplin Elementary School, Windham Christian Academy, Camp Care, Hampton Congregational Church as well as Eastford Baptist Church. Julie enjoyed family vacation and get-togethers with the families of her twin sister and cousins. Her favorite hobbies were paddle boarding, hiking, quilting, knitting, and baking. Those who knew Julie, knew her as one of the kindest most giving people they have ever met, some even referred to her as their second mother. Julie will also be remembered for her famous cookies and granola that she tirelessly made for friends and co-workers, as well as her customized meals she would prepare for her family and any other guests that would come over for dinner.

Along with her parents, Julie leaves behind her loving husband of 31 years, Michael Jenkins and two beautiful daughters Chelsea and Andrea; siblings Denise Twerdy and husband Matt, Debbie Hansen, Julie’s twin sister Judi Luther and husband Jon, Marsha Hansen, Alicia Ducharme and husband Alan, Henry Hansen Jr., Johnathan Hansen, and Jennifer Karkos and husband Matt; nieces and nephews Nicole Kuchinsky and Brianna Twerdy, Danielle Bertot and Charlotte Morganson, Nick and Amanda Luther, Michaela and Logan Bouley, Wyatt and Raven Hansen, and Paul Karkos. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Bill Jenkins and wife Kathleen, along with her much loved Kaselouskas cousins.

The family asks that donations in Julie’s name be made to Camp Care Kids, www.campcarekids.org or to a charity of your choice, to honor Julie’s giving spirit.

A Memorial Service will be held at Eastford Baptist Church, 133 Union Rd., Eastford, Connecticut on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 5:00pm. The service will also be live streamed on YouTube and Facebook. Check www.eastfordbaptist.com for links.
