John Bilts Obituary

John R Bilts, 76, of Windham Center, passed away after a brief illness on September 4, 2020.  He was born on January 29, 1944 in Willimantic the son of the late Alexander and Mary Rose (Tardy) Bilts.  John grew up in Willimantic and attended local schools.  He was a kind and caring person, and this was reflected through his many years of volunteer service with the Windham Center Volunteer Fire Department.  John retired in July 2009 from the University of Connecticut where he was a Facility Worker, after many years of dedicated service.  John is survived by a sister Jeanne Tucker of Columbia; nieces Cindy Doyle (Michael) of Oakdale, and Mary Rose Wadhams of Plainville; grandnephews Tucker Doyle of Oakdale and Mathew Bilts ((Kendall) of Torrington and a great grandnephew Zachary Bilts of Torrington. He also leaves behind many friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Theodore, Joseph, and James Bilts.   
There are no calling hours.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the Windham Center Volunteer Fire Department.
