Joel L. York

Joel L. York, 64, of Chaplin, CT died Sunday, November 3, 2019. Survived by his brother Walter “Kenny” of Chaplin; sister Cynthia Bibeau of Chaplin; step-brother Edward (Valerie) Garrison of Chaplin; and step-sisters Sandra LaChapelle of Canterbury and Sharon Garrison of Chaplin; Nieces and nephews Paula, Connie, Correna, Rhonda, Kenny, Pamela, Nicole, Kyra, Jake, Jennifer, and Jessica; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis Burdick and Walter Kenneth York, Sr. Joel was a lifelong member of the Chaplin Volunteer Fire Department, collected model cars, and worked at the Willimantic Stop & Shop. His calling hours will be Friday, November 8, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226. The memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Joel’s name to the Chaplin Volunteer Fire Dept.
