Jocille Viola Devaux, a loving, kind, and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023, in Chaplin, CT. Born on June 8, 1936, in Van Buren, ME, daughter of the late Leon and Annie (Cormier) Lebel. Jocille's life was a testament to her enduring spirit, unwavering kindness, and her love of all animals. After being raised in Van Buren, she moved to Connecticut where she married and raised her family in East Hartford, while working as a secretary at Pratt and Whitney. Jocille loved to learn new crafts, including sewing, stained glass, wood working, cake decorating, and painting.
She is survived by her son Robert Devaux Jr. and his wife Melissa of Chaplin, CT and her daughter Donna Santine of Hudson, FL, who will forever cherish her memory. Jocille also leaves behind four grandchildren, Robert L Devaux III of Chaplin, Danielle Segar and her husband Jonathan of Windham, Brian Santine, and Jonathan Santine of Hudson FL; eight great grandchildren, Zak, Lily, Bradly, Caleb, Natalie, Tanner, Ciara and Cali. She also leaves her siblings Lucien Lebel, Marlene Lay, and Jean Hailey. She was predeceased by her husband Robert L Devaux Sr, a brother Harold Lebel, and sisters Joan Barone and Verna Pestrito. Jocille's life was a beautiful journey that touched countless hearts, and her gentle spirit was a source of comfort for all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. To honor Jocille's wishes there will be no funeral service. I invite you to privately celebrate her memory, have a mass said in her name, and please pray the rosary in her name. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
