Jeanette E. (Touchette) Millette

Jeanette E. Millette, 95, of Willimantic, CT passed away on October 17, 2023, surrounded by her family and caregiver Mavis Lopez.  She was born in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of the late Leo A. and Laura (Major) Touchette.

Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted Catholic and lifelong member of Saint Mary’s Church. She passed on her love of God through her kindness and generous ways to her children and those close to her heart. Her main hobbies were knitting, sewing and holidays.  We will be forever kept warm by the many beautiful sweaters and afghans she knit for her family.  She would start daydreaming about the holiday’s months prior.  Jeanette was an exceptional homemaker.  As a young adult she worked at the telephone company and Electro-Motive to help support her family.  She worked outside the home once her children were grown at Brand Rex, United Abrasives and finally 10 years as a secretary at ECSU where she made many friends and loved her job. She will also be remembered for her tremendous generosity.  There was always enough food for another person and the house was never too small to fit you at her table.

Jeanette is survived by her children Carol Millette, Patricia Evans and her husband Donald, and John Millette and his wife Elizabeth, son in law Manny Diaz, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph E. Millette, children Donna Millette-Fridge, Robert Millette, and Jane Millette-Diaz, sister Anita Gaudreau, and grandson Timothy Barr.

There are no calling hours. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St. Willimantic with her burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT 06226 or the Donna Millette-Fridge Scholarship.
