Jean “Fran” Dupuis, 78, of Norwich, CT passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at Backus Hospital. He was born in Willimantic, CT, the son of the late William T. and Mary Blanche (Fournier) Dupuis.
Jean was very involved with the Moose Lodge #950, in Bozrah. He was always volunteering to help them with whatever he could including cooking meals and lining up events. Jean served as their President for several years and received the high honor of Pilgrim. He also loved playing horseshoes, competing in tournaments across the U.S. In addition to working as an auto mechanic, he drove the Mohegan Sun bus for many years.
Fran is survived by his four daughters, Brenda Landry and her husband, Jim of Lebanon, CT, Cheryl Langworthy of FL, Michele Langworthy of OH, and Jody Langworthy of Willimantic, CT; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sisters in law, Adrienne Cichon of Willimantic, CT, Theresa Wolcheski of Norwich, CT, and Marlyn Kelehear of Storrs, CT; brothers in law, David Vargas of Willimantic, CT, Wayne Vargas of MT, and Alan Vargas of MA; as well as his best friend whom was like a brother, Robert Marrotte and his wife, Judy. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, a sister Claire Witkowski and a brother William P. Dupuis.
Jean’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. His graveside service will be on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:30am at the Litchfield Cemetery, Bigelow Road, Hampton, CT.
