Janet L (Cook) Clapp, 89, of Windham, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was born to the late Charlotte (Lathrop) and Eden Cook. Janet was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church of Windham, she was a member of Anne Wood Elderkin Chapter of DAR since 2002, member of Windham Historical Society. Janet’s life was devoted to her family who all loved her so much, she cherished gatherings with her family, church family and friends. She enjoyed antiquing with her brother Cookie and sister in law Ellie “Cooks Olde Daze”. She loved her summers spent on Block Island and 3-mile Island with her sister Connie and family. She is survived by her siblings, Connie Cadow, Eden Cook II, Charlotte Rondeau and husband Marcel, George Cook and wife Susan. Her Children, Kathryn & Ronald Guy, Carol & Scott Perkins, Steven Clapp, David & Nancy Clapp, Rebecca & John Jarvis III. Her grandchildren, Ron & Anne Guy, Brandon & Mandy Perkins, Jeremy & Melissa Perkins, Ryan Perkins & Jeanie, John IV and Samantha Jarvis, Nathaniel & Gina Jarvis, Dylan Jarvis, Chad Jarvis & Reilly, Amanda & AJ Albert, Andrea & Michael Daly. Her great grandchildren, Anna Perkins, Jack & Juliana Jarvis, Olivia & John V Jarvis, Michael & Grace Perkins, Faolan & Freya Perkins. Sister in laws Ginny Clapp and Marie Rich and many nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her loving husband Russell T Clapp, a sister Lillian Cook, sister in law Ellie Cook and grandson Jamie Perkins. Very special gratitude to all of the staff at St Josephs Living Center for the comforting care, love and support that they provided to Janet & her family. Janet’s family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 4:00-6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, Ct. 06226. Her funeral service will be on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10:00am at the First Congregational Church of Windham, 4 Windham Center Road, Windham, Ct. 06280.
