Jacquelin E. Clement, 69, of Mansfield Center, CT, long-time significant other of George E. Spellmon, died tragically on Friday November 6, 2020 in a fire where they both resided in North Windham, CT. She was born September 30, 1951 in Stafford, CT, to the late Alexander E. and Harriette H. (Curtis) Poreda. She was a 1970 graduate of Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, CT, and then studied at Norwich Commercial School. She was employed at the University of Connecticut Purchasing Department and retired in 2011 after 40 years of dedicated service. Jacquelin, “Jackie,” enjoyed sewing, embroidery, coffee dates, decadent desserts, random spur of the moment road trips, taking pictures, chipmunks, and peacocks. She had an immense love for her daughter and granddaughter; as well as the ladies from the Purchasing/Accounts Payable department at UCONN. She is survived by a daughter Laurie J. (Sheehan) Howlett of Windham, CT, and a granddaughter Mariah K. Howlett of Windham, CT. Jackie was known for her kindness. In honor of her memory, please pass on a random act of kindness. There will be no calling hours or service. Jacquelin’s daughter is planning a private graveside service and celebration of life at a later date.
