Elizabeth Morin Obituary

The lady that was the center of our little universe is gone. Elizabeth "Betty" (Young) Morin, 83, of Willimantic, CT, wife of the late Amos Morin, passed away on April 28, 2022. We wanted her to stay, but she was tired. The past couple of years really took a toll on her. After a hard fought battle with COPD and spine pain she let go of the fight. She's not in pain any longer, she is only feeling love and will be with her husband, Amos. Together 63 years, they were as much in love as the day they were married.

Her children and grandchildren were her reason for life. She was a worrier, we knew to check in regularly or risk a scolding. If you needed anything, Mom was there. We have many beautiful memories of this loving lady to lead our family forward.

She was a computer savvy Gramma who "googled" everything. Chatting on the phone with her children was a daily pleasure and she was delighted when grandchildren called. Mom liked UCONN women's basketball and game shows. She was a wiz at Wheel of Fortune. She was always taking pictures and never developing them. Mom was afraid of thunderstorms, she said it was because she was born during the 1938 hurricane. She loved Dunkin Donuts coffee and wore big sunglasses. Her cupboards were always full. Cooking was in her blood, working at various restaurants and retiring from UCONN dining. She was the best cheerleader at her grandchildren's sporting events and school functions. We miss her in a million ways already.

We hope we told Mom that we love her enough times. We can't do that anymore. So today make sure to say I love you. You may not get the chance tomorrow.

She leaves her children: Doreen James (Scott James), Darlene Gottleib (David McCollum) and Robert Morin (Lauren Kupper). She was grandmother EXTRAORDINAIRE to Nicole, Danny, Joshua, Travis, Shane, Amy, and Katelyn and her great-grandchildren; Joshua Jr, Julian, Jordan, Elijah, Lelani, Bailey and Aiden. She also leaves a sister Marilyn Robinson. She was predeceased by her infant son Dennis and grandson Benjamin.
