Eleanor “Ellie” C. D’Annolfo, 96, of Coventry CT, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 8, 2021. She was born in Englewood, New Jersey on January 16, 1924, daughter of the late Bertha and Adolf Leo Schrodersecker (Schroeder). In her earlier years Ellie resided in New Jersey and worked as a stenographer in New York City. After meeting the love of her life Gaetano “Guy” John D’Annolfo she married and settled in Massachusetts and later in Connecticut.
Ellie’s working career was mainly as an administrative assistant at firms in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. After Guy’s passing Ellie moved to the Cape Cod area where she was an administrative assistant at the Latham School for several years, and after her retirement she moved back to Coventry, Connecticut. She was active in her community creating many craft items donated to charities and organizations. Ellie was a member of the First Congregational Church and Choir of Coventry, CT. the Coventry, CT Historical Society, and the Coventry, CT auxiliary police as a school crossing guard for many years.
Ellie was a phenomenal cook and baker. Her boundless creative energy focused on hobbies including sewing, crewel work, making teddy bears and porcelain dolls. Ellie enjoyed travelling with family and friends and she embraced being a pet parent to several cats over her lifetime. Her relish for adventure was apparent in her camping trips to the Rocky Mountains and fishing in Alaska and Cape Cod. Her love and appreciation of nature in all its forms was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Ellie is survived by her four children, Leslie Page, Donald (Kathleen) Teagno, Andrea (Stephen) Marshall, and Annette (Paul) Holmstrom as well as seven grandchildren Kevin (Sarah) Page, Andrew (Mae) Teagno, Stephen A. Marshall, Nicole Holmstrom, Travis Marshall, Alexandra Holmstrom, and Lauren Marshall and two great grandchildren Justin and Michael Page. Ellie is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Thank you Mom for everything, we all miss you. May you find eternal peace with Guy.
