Edward Walton Obituary

Edward M. Walton passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on March 19, 2021.  He was born April 14, 1942 in Montclair, NJ, son of Edward H. Walton and Anne M. Walton.  Ed leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Shirley Sullivan Walton; son Stephen Walton, daughter Deborah Walton Gallacher and husband Richard; brother Chandler Walton and wife Bette Ann; sister Linda Doede; three beloved grandchildren; Brenna, Connor and Meagan Gallacher, brother-in-law Ed Sullivan and wife Eileen, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Ed grew up in Hamden, CT attending local schools graduating from Milford Prep and went on to attend University of New Haven graduating with a BS in electrical engineering and an MBA from University of Hartford.  He started his career at Times Wire and Cable moving to Brand-Rex where he worked his way up to Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  During his time at Brand Rex he was able to travel extensively and make lifelong friendships.  He ended his career at Rockbestos and Draka Cable.

Generous and forgiving to a fault, Ed was the first to grab the check, or pay for your round of golf, and the first to overlook your flaws.  Ed always approached life with a positive attitude with passion and a sense of adventure.  He enjoyed golfing weekends with his wonderful friends, Monday night football with the Spring Glen crew, season tickets to UConn Basketball for years with the opportunity to celebrate many national championships.  Ed loved to drive his 1985 red Corvette with his faithful dog Chloe and recently Brie.  He would watch the sunset sitting by beautiful Lake Terramuggus with a Glen Livet Scotch on the rocks.  Funeral services will be private due to COVID restrictions.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Roy B. Pettengill Marlborough Ambulance Assoc. P.O. Box 308, Marlborough, CT 06447-0308.
