Edith Louise Pompei peacefully passed away at the age 95 on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born in Fitchville, CT on September 5, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Marquette) Reinhart.
Edith was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never tired of talking about her love and pride for her family. Edith was an active member of the Windham and Chaplain Senior Centers for many years where she managed to make people feel welcome and included.
Edith is survived by her daughter Maureen J. Peterson, son-in-law John K. Peterson, granddaughter Erin B. Peterson, great grandchildren Paige A. Rivers, Patrick A. Rivers, grand-son-in-law Scott Rivers, sister Carol Sullivan, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Edith was predeceased by a granddaughter Jill K. Peterson Rivers, husbands Joseph Brouillard, Joseph Pompei, sisters Edna Reinhart, Hazel Bianchi, and brother William Reinhart.
Edith worked tirelessly for approval and funding of the New Willimantic Senior Center. Her “Pitchfork” did wonders with elected officials … everyone knew Edie! In the Senior Community, where she resided, Edith ran the Activity Center for several years with many functions and parties.

Edith’s celebration of life will be celebrated on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St, Willimantic, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
