While I never had the privilege of meeting Rev. Hoyle, I read his obituary in the Hartford paper and felt that we would have been good friends. I am 90, a retired United Methodist minister here in Southington, CT, in the NY Conference. We shared similar concerns. I was jailed twice during the civil rights era in the early 60s and also arrested in 2002 at the UN for peacefully demonstrating against the approaching Iraq War. Anyway, hats off to his life well spent and may God bless his beloved wife and family as they grieve their great loss.

Don was one of those few people who developed a moral code early in his life and lived it fully. We don't see many people like this, and I have always admired his steadfastness and the integrity with which he explored the consequences of this code. I know his family will mourn his passing, but our community has lost an important anchor as well. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies on his passing.

A proud grandfather who would keep me informed of his grandchildren's activities. He fought hard toward environmental justice and will be missed by Citizens Climate Lobby and the Mansfield community for preaching wisdom and encouraging actions. His enlightening editorial opinions will be missed. My sympathy to all he touched, and especially his family.
