Diane "Dee Dee" P. (Pavone) Schlehofer

Diane “Dee Dee” (Pavone) Schlehofer, of Coventry, CT died peacefully at Windham Hospital on April 28, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dee Dee was born in Willimantic, CT on October 15, 1946. The only daughter of Thomas and Leona Pavone, graduating from Windham High School in 1964.

Dee Dee worked at CL&P for over ten years and met the love of her life Woodrow “Woody” Schlehofer. They married in 1974 and worked with her husband in the family business for many years. She was a caretaker at heart, fiercely devoted to her family and her best friend Mary Rose Trainor, who was with her to the very end. Dee Dee loved the holidays with her family, sharing photos on Facebook of her family and the occasional “cat photo”. She always had a smile on her face and loved her family. Dee Dee will be remembered for her kind, sweet soul.

She is survived by her brother Philip “Butch” Pavone and his partner Debbie of Hudson, FL, niece Carrie Passaro and her family of Windsor Locks, CT, nephew Daniel Pavone and his family of Mansfield, CT. As well as her stepdaughters, Carrie, Robin and Holly. Dee Dee was predeceased by her husband, Woody and her parents.

There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made in Dee Dee’s honor to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of Dee Dee’s life will be held at a later date.
