Dennis Gonzalez

Dennis Gonzalez, 60, of Willington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.  He was born and raised in Willimantic, and was a Windham High graduate.  He retired from UConn as a carpenter after 37 years of service this past March. A sports enthusiast and avid Husky, Red Sox, and Patriots fan. An athlete coaching his two children for years.  Playing on the Willimantic Men’s Softball League including the Bench Shop, as the Play Off Pitcher, winning against Blarneys Cafe one year. He enjoyed family time, traveling, and his Trolley family. Dennis and his wife of 33 years, Evelyn, enjoyed remodeling homes and settling into their dream home in Willington in 2009. His pride and joy was his son Benjamin and daughter Christina. He will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Too many longtime friends to count.

Dennis was predeceased by his father Adolfo Gonzalez Sr,  brother Adolfo Gonzalez Jr., and sister Evelyn Gonzalez Caswell.

Dennis leaves behind his wife Evelyn Whitman-Gonzalez; a son Benjamin Adolfo Gonzalez and daughter Christina Eliza Gonzalez; his mother Carmen Gonzalez and step-father Raul Class; brother Kenny, sisters Madeline, Marilyn, and Cindy Gonzalez, god daughter Ashlee Gonzalez, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis would of wanted his German Shepard, Kaci Anne, who was at his side to the end also mentioned.

Dennis’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic.  His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:00am at the funeral home, with his burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
