Denise Pelkey Obituary

Denise (Ducharme) Pelkey, 77, of North Windham, CT passed away at home on July 12, 2020.  She was born on July 22, 1942 to the late Lucienne (Rondeau) and Rudolph Ducharme .  Denise was a driver for Dial a Ride for many years and was very passionate about her driving abilities, participating and doing very well in the International Bus Rodeo.  She also enjoyed her weekly aerobic swim group and cherished the friendships she made with the ladies. She enjoyed learning how to use her electronic devices, playing games and online shopping.  She faithfully followed the UCONN Women’s basketball team as well as the New England Patriots. Denise was predeceased by her daughters Christine (Pelkey) Cooper and Suzanne Pelkey.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years,  Joseph “Oneal”;  three brothers, Eugene Ducharme of Storrs, CT, Richard Ducharme of Jacksonville, Florida, Thomas Ducharme and his wife Paula of York, PA; sister, Lucille Hill and brother in law Theodore of Eastford, CT;  she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.  There are no calling hours. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
