Daniel Bruce Meade of Hampton, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, surrounded by his loving family. Daniel, originally of Willimantic, CT, graduated from the University of CT with a masters degree in hydro-geology and went on to work for the CT Department on Environmental Protection and the US Geological Survey. He was adjunct faculty at University of CT, Eastern CT State University, and Manchester Community College. Dan was an active and respected member of his community, serving as deacon at Hampton Congregational Church, second selectman of Hampton, chair of the Hampton Emergency Management Department, as well as serving on the Hampton conservation commission and the Hampton Board of Education. Dan loved the outdoors, he was an avid bass fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed traveling around the country and visiting the National Parks with his family, and he was a very skilled carpenter.
Daniel was the son of Ruth Schenk and James Meade. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Marie Dorosz, daughter Jen Meade and her husband Adam Sheridan, their daughters Finn and Juneau; daughter Shannon Meade and her daughters Arabella and Sage; and predeceased by his son Adam Matthew Meade. He is also survived by sister Barbara and predeceased by sisters Gina and Janet.
Memorial Service will be at Hampton Congregational Church on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Masonicare Hospice (Charity Foundation of CT, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492).
