Cecile Mazzola Obituary

Cecile M. Mazzola, age 87 wife of the late Henry J. Mazzola, passed away on July 2, 2020 in New Port Richey, Florida. She was born on September 8, 1932 in Putnam, CT, daughter of the late Eva B. (Robidoux) Boutin, and Odilon J. Boutin. She is survived by her only living sibling Geralda Auger of Putnam, CT, and her dearest friend and sister-in-Law Josephine (Mazzola) Koval of Columbia, CT. She is also survived by her children, Mark A. Mazzola and his wife Mary Mazzola of Storrs, CT; Sally A. (Mazzola) Maulucci, of New Port Richey, Florida; Wayne A. Mazzola of New Port Richey, Florida; and Virginia (Mazzola) Shea and her husband Mark Shea of Moodus, CT. She was predeceased by her youngest son James M. Mazzola in 2000. She has ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Mazzola) Avallone; Melissa (Mazzola) Rothman; Kara (Mazzola) McGinn; James Potvin; Gina (Potvin) Burnham; Joseph Maulucci; Steven Maulucci; Laura Maulucci; Matthew Chartier; and Sally Rubia Chartier. She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren and a great-great baby granddaughter.

Cecile devoted herself in marriage to the love of her life Henry J. Mazzola, and in addition to raising an active family, she and her husband were self-employed entrepreneurs who ran a variety of business ventures, including owning a motel on Clearwater Beach in Florida. She and her husband retired to Florida in the late 1970’s. Her husband, Henry Mazzola passed away in
1994. She lived out most of her years until her death with her son Wayne Mazzola, until recently when she became infirmed and was then cared for by her daughter Sally Maulucci who also resides in Florida.

She was a generous and loving mother who always put her children first and provided wisdom, thoughtful advice and a moral compass to guide them. Among the many attributes she possessed, she always had a thankful heart and was never too busy to listen. She was a saved Christian and the anchor of our family. She will be missed by all until we see her again in Glory. Funeral arrangements are through Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St, Willimantic, CT 06226. There will be a simple family graveside service on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those who wish to remember her could make a donation to Gulfside Hospice, 2061 Collier Parkway, Land O Lakes, Florida, 34639.
