Aurea Rosado Obituary

Aurea E. Rosado, 83, of Willimantic, CT, wife of the late Pedro J. Rosado, passed away on November 28, 2020. She was born on February 28, 1937 in Guayama, Puerto Rico to the late Obdulio Garcia and Amelia Morales. In the early 1950’s, Aurea moved to New York with her parents and two of her siblings. In 1954, she met a young man named Pedro who would become her husband for 63 years. The two married on July 23, 1955 and had five daughters. Aurea, Pedro and two of her daughters moved to Willimantic, CT in 1996. Aurea was a homemaker and excellent cook. She loved opening the door of her home to entertain and make her special dishes for family and friends.

Aurea is survived by 4 daughters: Gladys and David Rosario, Amy and Rady Maldonado both of Charlotte, NC; Laurie Ann and Pedro Sanchez, Naomi Rosado both of Willimantic, CT; adopted daughter Emily Rivera from NY; sisters: Milagros Garcia and Mary Morales of Guayama, PR; 17 grandchildren: Larissa, Linnet, Pedro Radames, Amanda, RJ, PeeJay, Maggie, Shirley, Santy, Yari, Shirmaira, Noel, Sharis, Aureann, Chirisse, Christopher and Lauren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Aurea was predeceased by her husband Pedro, daughter Evelyn, her parents Obdulio and Amelia, and 3 siblings Joe, Carmen and Lolyn. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic no services will be held. Burial will be held at a later date in Puerto Rico.
