Anthony “Tony” L. Barber, young age of 91, passed away on January 27, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 11, 1932 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Anthony V. and Yvonne (Thomas) Barber.

Tony graduated from Killingly High School, Class of 1950 and worked for Prym Company for 50 years. Before he retired, he also worked at the East Conn. Transportation Company.

Anthony had a strong Catholic Faith. To say that he loved duckpin bowling would be an understatement! His passion was working on the Frank Barber Memorial Classic Tournament. He was a true historian of bowling and had records from the 1st tournament in 1931. Tony’s other hobbies were photography, traveling to FL and The Cape; he loved the ocean. He was a life member of the Elk’s Club and the K of C 3rd and 4th degree. Tony’s smile would light up a room, he will truly be missed.

He leaves behind his stepchildren Ann Parker, Linda Desindes and her fiancé Greg Michaud, Harriet and her husband Charlie McKean, step-grandchildren Katrina Thomas, Bobby Bellerose, Lisa Avery and her husband John, Cherish Desindes, AJ Parker and his wife Jenn, Katelyn Michaud, step-great grandchildren Madison Parker, Richard Parker, III, sister Carol Barber Nadeau and her husband Roger, brother in law Charles Kelly and his wife Linda, as well as several nieces and nephews and his friends from Lucky Strike Lanes, St. Joseph Church, the Elks, and K of C.

Anthony was predeceased by his wife of 28 years, Harriet (Bellerose), stepson Leo Bellerose, Jr., stepson in law Richard Parker, step great grandson Kurt Michaud, sister Elaine (Barber) and her husband Daniel Greene.

The family would like to thank Vanderman Place in Willimantic for taking such good care of him during his short stay with him.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with his burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
