Andrea Elizabeth (Mahoney) Marshall

Andrea Elizabeth Marshall, 82, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021. Andrea was born on December 12, 1938 in Providence, RI to the late Ada (Greenwood) and John R. Mahoney and was the youngest of five children. She was predeceased by her four older brothers; John R. Mahoney Jr., James Mahoney, Peter Mahoney, and Paul Mahoney. 

Andrea loved being a homemaker and mother to her three children. She was also secretary and Vice President of her husband's company, RA Marshall Inc., a fire protection business. Andrea was an avid tennis player who took up the sport in her early 30's and became a sly, competitive player continuing into her 70's. She enjoyed reading, crosswords and playing cards. Her favorite place to be was at the beach. She had a glorious childhood that she reminisced about often, growing up in the Gaspee Point neighborhood of Warwick, RI.

Andrea is survived by her husband Richard of Columbia, her daughter Ann-Marie Larson (husband Russ) of Cobalt, her son Peter Marshall (wife Lisa) of Andover, and her daughter Rebecca Bentley of Mansfield Center. She leaves behind six grandchildren; Alexander Larson, David Larson, Sam Marshall (wife Olivia), Sarah Marshall, Tyler Bentley and Sean Bentley. She has 26 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Center Cemetery, Columbia, CT and is open to anyone who would like to attend. The cemetery can be reached by an access road to the left of The History Place building which is across the street from the Columbia Town Hall at 323 Trumbull Hwy (Rte 87), Columbia, CT. An outdoor reception will follow at the home of Rebecca Bentley. Directions will be provided at the service.
