Zenon Malinowski, 85, of Storrs, died Tuesday April 20, 2004 at the Windham Community Memorial Hospital. He was born in Turners Falls, Massachusetts June 13, 1918, the son of the late Stanley and Julia Malinowski. He grew up in Norwalk, CT where he received his early education. He earned his bachelor's degree at Yale University, his MA and PhD at the University of Chicago. He served overseas as a captain in the Army Transportation Corps during World War II. He was employed in 1949 by the School of Business Administration at the University of Connecticut from which he retired as Professor of Marketing and Assistant Dean. He played an important role in the design and creation of that school?s highly successful MBA program. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 56 years, Shirley and his daughters, Marya of Avila Beach, California and Lisa Steinman and her husband James Shugrue of Portland, Oregon. Honoring his wishes there will be no funeral or memorial services. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to donate to the charity of their choice in his memory.
