Yohara Pagan Obituary
Yohara Pagan, 46, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 15th, 2021. Yohara was born on June 19th, 1975 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to Luz Maria Figueroa and Francisco Pagan. She was the second of four children and the youngest daughter. Born deaf and mute, Yohara met many challenges early on in life but showed incredible resilience and strength through it all.
Yohara spent many years living in different group homes, but it was at Deerwood Group Home where she resided for 17 years, and where she spent her final years in the company of her housemates and caretakers. It was at Deerwood where Yohara and her family, as well as her housemates and caretakers, made countless memories, celebrating her birthdays and holidays and enjoying every moment they had together.
Yohara loved her toys and was always so happy to receive gifts on her birthday and on Christmas. She loved spending time outdoors, basking in the warmth of the sun in one of her many favorite spots. She was an active, strong, and sweet person, and her family and friends will miss her tremendously.
She is survived by her parents, Luz and Francisco; her siblings, Ivette, Pedro, Frankie, Andy, and Sonny; her aunts, uncles, and cousins in Puerto Rico; and her many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Yohara’s family would like to thank the Deerwood Group Home for taking care of her all of these years and for showing her love all the way until the end.
